Engine Component

Last Updated: November 8, 20240.7 min read

Overview

The Engine component generates power for the vehicle, affecting speed, acceleration, and torque. This component allows for the simulation of different engine types (e.g., electric, diesel, or petrol) and provides control over how the vehicle accelerates and responds to throttle input.

Usage

Developers use the Engine component to define how much power the vehicle produces and how quickly it can reach different speeds. The engine component integrates with the vehicle’s wheels and transmission, creating a seamless flow of power and allowing for advanced configurations, like fuel consumption and sound effects tied to engine RPM.

Key Properties

  • Power Output: Determines the overall horsepower or power capacity of the engine.
  • Throttle Response: Defines how quickly the vehicle responds to acceleration input.
  • Torque Curve: Adjusts the distribution of power over different RPMs.
